Astronomy and references

These are generated photographic-style illustrations, not photographs of detected alien life or ancient sites. Their astronomical addresses come from the saved NASA catalog, including explicitly flagged controversial entries. All inhabitants, cultures, megaliths, moons and local environments are imagined. Apparent celestial sizes, orientations and brightnesses are artistic unless a chapter states otherwise. No archaeological claim or calibrated sky simulation is intended.

Catalog data and uncertainties use the saved NASA composite snapshot of 25 September 2026. Parameters can come from different studies; calculated values, limits and controversy flags remain identified in each science companion. Unknown is not zero.

Ten scenes were generated separately using independent compositions, then individually reviewed. An additional titled hardcover is editorial artwork and is excluded from the planetary-scene count.

The Milky Way and external spiral galaxy are artistically brightened or enlarged. The M4 star field is an evocation, not a reconstructed internal cluster sky. Beta Pictoris supplies an observed debris disk, but the local view, visible fragments and ancient civilization are speculative. The giant’s rings, every moon, the comet, the auroras and every monument are invented. TRAPPIST-1’s neighbouring planets are enlarged and not positioned by an orbital model. Kepler-186 f, Kepler-452 b and HD 40307 g retain the controversy flags in the saved catalog.

Kepler-442 b · The First Alignment

The landscape, atmosphere, moon, culture and megaliths are fictional. The Milky Way is shown with enhanced colour and contrast; neither its precise orientation nor the moon’s size is a calculated sky prediction. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

HD 28185 b · Under the Broken Halo

No moon or rings are established here. The imagined giant’s colour, cloud structure and apparent diameter are artistic; this is not a view from a solid surface of the gas giant. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

Kepler-186 f · The River of Stars

Neither a river nor this ecosystem is known on Kepler-186 f. The galactic band is artistically brightened and its local orientation is illustrative. The stones and their makers are invented. The saved catalog marks Kepler-186 f as controversial. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

PSR B1620-26 b · A Thousand Suns of Night

The moon, atmosphere, inhabitants and monuments are invented. The rich stellar field and its central concentration evoke M4, but they are not a reconstruction of a view from within the cluster. Star positions, colours and brightnesses are uncalibrated. An old planetary system does not establish an ancient civilization. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

bet Pic b · The Dust Road

The debris disk is real; the moon, breathable atmosphere, life and stonework are invented. The disk’s local appearance and brightness are an artistic interpretation, not the Earth-view image projected into the moon’s sky. The civilization is not claimed to fit the young system’s evolutionary timescale. Resolved dark debris fragments are illustrative exaggerations, not predicted naked-eye objects. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

Kepler-22 b · The Tide of Three Moons

Kepler-22 b’s bulk properties do not establish an ocean or accessible rocky surface. Three moons, their sizes, phases, sky positions and orbits are arranged artistically rather than derived from a consistent orbital model. Tides, inhabitants and monuments are fictional. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

Kepler-62 f · The Silent Spiral

The spiral is an enlarged illustrative galaxy, not an identified close companion or a prediction of Kepler-62 f’s actual sky. Its angular size and colour are artistic. The rocky plateau, atmosphere, species and observatory are fictional. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

TRAPPIST-1 e · The Neighbouring Worlds

TRAPPIST-1’s compact multiplanet system is observed. The visible neighbouring disks are enlarged, their positions are illustrative and this is not an orbital simulation. Ice, atmosphere, migration routes, fire and the civilization are fictional. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

Kepler-452 b · The Sky Remembers

No aurora, moon, magnetic field or mountain landscape is established here. The scene borrows the physical idea of charged particles exciting an atmosphere; its colours, geometry, habitation and ancient culture are speculative. Kepler-452 b is flagged as controversial in the saved catalog. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.

HD 40307 g · The Returning Fire

The catalogued setting supplies a host association, not proof of this landscape or habitability. The comet, its orbit and apparent size, all life, atmosphere and monuments are invented. The dust and ion tails illustrate different physical responses to sunlight and the solar wind. HD 40307 g is flagged as controversial in the saved catalog. All life, architecture, cultural practices and chronology are fiction; no alien civilization or archaeological discovery is claimed.
